The Twin Cities are great for bike riding and this weekend is an excellent time to get outside and explore.

Facts about biking in the Twin Cities:
• Saint Paul has been designated as a bronze level "Bicycle Friendly Community" by the League of American Cyclists.
• Minneapolis has been designated as a gold level "Bicycle Friendly Community" by the League of American Cyclists.
• Minneapolis was named America's most bike friendly city in 2010 by Bicycling Magazine.
• The twin Cities has one of the highest percentages of people who commute to work by bicycle in the nation. Census data shows that approximately 4,500 Minneapolitans regularly commute to work by bicycle.
• All Metro Transit buses are now equipped with bike racks. You can even try one out at several retail locations around the Cities.

Minnesotans celebrate summer and the rich cultural heritage of the state.

This weekend you can celebrate summer with the Minneapolis Aquatennial or check out the many museums that explore the history and culture of Minnesota.

Called the best days of summer the Aquatennial is celebrating its 75th year. From water to food to music and more, there are many great and diverse events happening throughout the 2014 Minneapolis Aquatennial.

Taxation without representation!

This is probably not the common statement you will hear this holiday weekend, but it is due to this strong sentiment that our country is now celebrating its 239th Birthday.

With our thoughts turning to barbeques, family and friends gathering and fireworks, it is important to also remember how we are now able to celebrate this important holiday.
