Have Homework During the Holidays?

Your child has come home for winter break with homework assigned to be completed and returned in the new year.

For many families this adds stress to the holidays when schedules are full of gatherings and other family obligations.

You can help your student by creating a space and time for homework each day. If your student is an early riser, create homework time first thing in the morning before other activities begin. Or you can schedule a mid-day break for homework.

In creating a space for homework amongst the “busyness” it confirms to your student that you are supportive of their hard work and dedication.

Be sure to include appropriate rewards after each homework time is completed – getting together with friends, watching a DVD as a family, going skating, etc.
