Meet two of our fabulous new tutors!

Welcoming Two New Tutors to the Team!

We're always on the hunt for new, academically strong tutors to join our team here at Homeworks. We've recently added these two wonderful tutors to our team. Annalee tutors Spanish, English, writing, grammar, history, organizational/study skills, math, and other subjects. Christina tutors everything math. Here's a little more about these great tutors:

Annalee: Bilingual Associate Educator

I currently work at Anwatin Middle School in Minneapolis where I'm a Bilingual Associate Educator and a co-advisor to the Gay Straight Alliance. I work in 8th grade math, science, humanities, and English classes. Because Anwatin has a Dual Immersion program in Spanish, I work in many of these classes in both English and Spanish. I lived in Argentina for 2 years and was in graduate school at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba for one of those years. I study Hispanic Linguistics, and helping students with their Spanish is my favorite thing. I also thoroughly enjoy helping with reading, grammar, and writing in English. My specialties in English include vocabulary development, teaching proper essay and paragraph structure, and how to compile bibliographies. In Winter-Spring, I have a special place in my heart for History Day, and have lots of experience in coaching award winning kids in the Junior Division.

I have a BA in Spanish and Critical Studies of Race and Ethnicity from St. Catherine University, and have also taught as a wilderness instructor for the Minnesota Department of Corrections, as a teacher's assistant at St. Catherine University, and as an English teacher for a school in Argentina. In my spare time I love to canoe, read, be a gopher gymnastics fan, and count down the days to the Minnesota State Fair.

Christina: PhD Student in Statistics

Hi! My name's Christina and I'm finishing up my PhD in statistics at the University of Minnesota. I earned my BA in math at Carleton College. My experience lies in tutoring math (mostly calculus) and statistics, and I'd love to help you with either of these topics (or both!)  I like to make math and statistics materials as organized, intuitive, and easy-to-replicate as possible. I've instructed introductory statistics and been a teaching assistant for a variety of statistics courses ranging from graduate level statistical theory to basic statistical concepts for the math-phobic. In my free time, I enjoy doing yoga, cooking, eating, and traveling. My picture is from a trip to Taiwan last winter!
