Psychology, Statistics, & Organization/Study Skills Tutor

Background
I recently attended the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs, pursuing an M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in statistics and research methods. Before that, I obtained my B.A. in Psychology from Metropolitan State University. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve been involved in various teaching and tutoring roles. At UCCS, I served as a Tutor for Statistics for Behavioral Sciences at the Math Center and as a Teaching Assistant for BioPsych. Additionally, I provided GED tutoring to teenagers who had a history of challenges with the legal system.

Beyond academia, I’ve gained valuable experience in the mental health field, working for three years as a Mental Health Practitioner where I served clients with severe and persistent mental illness. The tools that I developed in this role have greatly benefited my tutoring approach!

Free Time
I’m an avid outdoor enthusiast with a passion for activities like camping, backpacking, hiking, kayaking, cycling, running, and tennis I also have a deep appreciation for music, both as a listener and creator, spanning genres from hip-hop and R&B to jazz, soul, funk, and prog-rock. I love exploring new places, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Goals
I am currently honing my statistics skills in pursuit of a career in data analysis/data science. I am also looking forward to getting married and starting a family with my fiancé (and dog Bruno)!
